Air Conditioner Service
We often need to explain to our Lethbridge Air Conditioning customers that getting your air conditioner checked is much like getting your oil changed on your car. If you do it regularly (annually in the case of AC) your car will last longer, stay in warranty and generally perform better. Yet, there are a lot of air conditioners out there that haven’t seen the business end of a technician’s wrench for a long time! Here are some myths that a few homeowners believe. See you are in the mix:
- Some Air Conditioners need to be “topped up” or refilled every year. MYTH! If your air conditioner needs refrigerant every year, it’s because it has a leak. It’s unlawful and unethical to refill an air conditioner that has a leak!
- Air Conditioners should just be used until they break down. OUCH! I sure hope we’re not treating everything in our life that way. Poor, poor air conditioner. It just want’s a little love.
- My Air Conditioner dims the lights in the house every time it comes on. Yikes — do you know how much power it has to draw to dim the lights in your home? Sure, some will have that effect, but that’s probably an indication that your AC is sucking back the kilowatts big time. It’s definitely time to check it, and you may want to think about getting something a little less power hungry!
