Keep Your Eye On The Air Conditioning System
There are also some things you can keep an eye on to ensure your air conditioning equipment is working properly. One of the primary parts of your AC system you should watch and check on from time to time is the outdoor condenser. This unit should be running when your air conditioner kicks on.
- Debris should be kept off of it. All obstacles need to be removed from the area surrounding the condenser unit.
- Check for strange sounds coming from both the indoor and outdoor air conditioning unit. You shouldn’t hear loud noises or odd whines.
- Keep pets away from the outdoor AC unit. They can be damaged by dogs, pets, or objects.
- Keep an eye on the drip line to make sure it is removing the condensation which is generated from the indoor unit. The drip line is a small plastic tube that leads outdoors.
Also Look for these signs:
- Air conditioner won’t turn on at all.
- Wet carpeting or flooring near the inside unit (clogged condensation line).
- Roof leaking or attic leaks (clogged condensation line).
- No cold air coming from vents but the unit is running.
